Sorry I took so long to reply! That always happens!

And thanks for that. I somehow knew that the Disney Athena, however absurd she looks, would always be the more popular version, no matter how much I can't stand it.

I think she's OK although not my favurite. I preffered her to the Athena in the Hercules/Xena series to be true. There she was so bland, just a shadow behind Zeus, running his errands. Not like the vibrant goddess of Homer. Or Saint Seia's Athena - blergh IMO!

Have you seen Andrei Konchalovsky's Odyssey movie where Isabella Rosellini starrs as Athena? Now that's one great interpretation. I also like how she appears in some of the old Wonderwoman stories, strong, fierce and independent yet compassionate.
Then there's a sequence of adventures in Thor where Athena and Thor become lovers althogh they are sworn enemies. I red one of those stories ages ago and have been trying to find the rest without success later.

You've got a point, but I suppose that besides the Isabella Rossellini one, I guess not many of them are particularly preferable.

No, I don't get why anyone can't make a decent Athena. She should be rather "easy" to do, I mean to turn into a successful Heroine!

But why can't anyone make her cool and charming - or at least interesting? I hate those boring interpretations of a cold, stiff and upright miss nobody that has been around the last two decades at least. Ppl out there really must find Athena less likable.
